The Tax Office has released details of three data matching projects it will carry out. Information collected from the projects will be electronically matched with ATO records to identify non-compliance with lodgement and payment obligations.

Motor Vehicles

The ATO will request and collect details of individuals and entities that have acquired a motor vehicle valued at $10,000 or higher from relevant state and territory departments (RTA, Vic Roads, etc.).

Personal Services Income (PSI)

Records relating to around 30,000 individuals and entities who have received contract payments from selected labour hire firms, placement agencies and computer consultancies will be matched.

Mining Industry Payments

The Tax Office will also request and collect information on amounts paid by mining companies to approximately 100,000 contractors and sub-contractors.
