We would like to welcome Jennie on board as the newest member of our team.
Jennie will be assisting me with Payroll Services and helping all of us with general administrative duties (I feel sorry for her already…. the filing never ends).
I can see from Jen’s Facebook profile that she’s a prolific online time-waster (lol) so hopefully we can coach her onto the blog some time in the near future. With extensive customer service experience, I’m sure she has at least a post or two up her sleeve in this area. It’s good to have you with us, Jennie.
Here’s a scary thought for all of the jobseekers out there; what does Google say about you? We receive a steady stream of resumes sent through to us and I do always look them over and keep them all on file in case a suitable position were to come up. What I often also do is Google the sender and check out their profiles at popular social media sites. Sometimes I am just shocked at what I find (well, okay I don’t shock easily nowadays but you know what I mean).
The primary quality I am looking for is good old-fashioned common sense. Now, if you’ve just sent out hundreds of resumes to potential employers raving about your work ethic, dedication and loyalty does it really seem smart to be online bragging about how your boss sucks, the company you work for stinks and you’re chucking a sickie that day just for the heck of it? I kid you not. Frankly, I feel the person is entitled to their opinion about boss and company (stupid beyond belief to post it online but entitled to the opinion nonetheless) and I’d be willing to overlook the sickie, but I’m not sure I could get passed the complete and utter lack of common sense on display.
