That seems to be the question carer’s all over the country are now asking (well, at least the one’s who are searching the site)!
Many thanks to our contributors to have taken the time to contact Centrelink regarding the expected payment date for Carer Supplement and shared the information with the rest of us (Tracey, Matt, Wendy, etc…. THANK YOU! ).
So as the comments are not lost in the ever-growing $600 Carer Supplement post, I’ve copied the most sought-after information regarding the supplement here for easy reference:

I called centrelink carers hotline this morning to clear up my confusion as to what I will be entitled to and when.
I receive both carers allowance and carers payment for my disabled son (child).
$600 bonus for carer allowance paid between 16-27 june 09
$600 bonus for carer payment paid between 16-27 June 09
$1000 bonus for carers receiving carer allowance for a child only paid 1 julyThe nice lady also told me that these payments will be paid seperately from your regular payments, I also told her that I can see my regular payments online to 25 June and that the bonus payments are not showing up to this date, she explained that they may only show up a couple of days before being deposited into your bank acct.
I hope this helps all those carers out there waiting for the extra $$ intended to help us out!!

The test date Was 12th of may 2009 this mean if u put a claim in after the 12th of may 2009 You Will Not Get the supplement
You had To Be On the carers Before the 12 th of may 2009 to get the supplement So any new claims after the 12th of may 2009 will not get the supplement ……..”In 2009, carer supplement will be paid to people who received a qualifying payment for the period including 12 May 2009.”…….LINK

I get the carer allowance for my son. I actually phoned Centrelink yesterday. I was told the $600 will be paid by the end of June and the $1000 is ongoing every July as long as you are still receiving carer allowance on the 1st July each year. No definite date was given for either.
I know how frustrating it can be for people when they are waiting on money and are not certain exactly when to expect it. Matt summed the situation up well when he said, “it seems that centrelink are giving diff dates but any ways we know its coming this month.”

6 days after your normal payday . i have just been informed
from monday this week they start and go though till the 2nd July 2009

I was wondering if anyone has a child they are getting carer allowance for and is about to turn 16 or already has. My son was 14 in January. Is it true that you lose it when your child turns 16,as the disability will still be there? My son has autism. I checked again with centrelink about the carer supplements we’re getting and the $600 us being paid by the end of June and the $1000 will be after the 1st July,providing you are still receiving the carer allowance as at the 1st July. Apparently it is like that as some people have unfortunatelly lost a child at the end of June,and so centrelink tell people now that they have to still be receiving it on the 1st July.
Hi, im just letting you all know my 600 dollars for carers allowance is going into my account this wednesday, so it says on the centrelink website. But if anyone has any information as to when we will be getting the 1000 dollars, could you please let me know..

hi everyone! my $600 bonus is already showing up on my future payments and will be paid 3rd week of June. we’re having it for our Carer’s Allowance. hope this helps.

I phoned Centrelink again today and asked them when I would be getting my $600 supplement and they told me that mine would be paid on the 26th June. Dates for the $1000 in July have not been released yet.

Hi just thought I would contribute to the conversation with a bit of trivial information about how no matter how hard you try the goverment will always screw you over. I am a carer of my son who is disabled and recently started a casual position a position to try and earn som extra dollars. I managed to pick up a few extra shifts for three weeks to get ahead as there was a three week break coming up. One of the weeks I worked extra was the week of May 12th. As I earned extra for this week my income was over the threshold and I didnt receive a payment from centerlink. The first time i was ever over. Because of this I dont receive the carers bonus as I wasnt eligible to receive a payment on this day. Unreal arent they. Why bother trying to work if they only screw you over for it. I was relying on this payment. I also didnt get the tax bonus as I didnt earn enough for the department to retain tax last year. Well done Mr Rudd, screw the underdog.
Got off the phone 30 seconds ago from Centrelink. I asked if there was a date yet for the $1000 and nice man told me it would be around the middle of July and it was 100% being paid. They just haven’t been given the exact dates as yet.
hi im all new to this its 2011 .i recieve a cares and cares allowance . can someone tell me do i recieve the 1000.
and if so when does this happen. ive only been on carares and carers allowance since november 2010 .thanks

The Carer Supplement is paid each year to recipients who, as at 1 July, are in receipt of an eligible carer benefit.
You don’t have to do anything to receive the payment. Centrelink will automatically make the payment into your bank account. The exact date varies between individuals, though it is usually paid some time by late June/early July.

Hi, I have contacted Centre Link and was unable to hold to speak to a customer service officer, however, their recording advised that the payment of up to $600.00 would be made in July, I was advised last week that payments would be made 18th July, 2011, but the person I spoke to did not sound very sure of themselves, which is why I rang again this morning. I am unsure if the payments of $1000.00 as previously received last year will be made this year.

Sorry, in the past we have received the payment late June early July, which is why I am confused by the dates given to me. However, the main thing is that we will still be receiving it as it definately does help.
Well, it’s the 1st of July today, and no payment in sight! Anyone received it yet??

Many people have begun to receive letters from Centrelink stating the payment date. The one I saw has the date as 14th July (which was this persons regular pay date). I expect it will be around the same time on whetever day you usually get paid.
I’m on the disability support pension will I receive the $600 too or just my carer?
Hi Tam,
Centrelink letters have been sent out to people who will receive the supplement this year. You would need to check with Centrelink to be sure, but my understanding is that the Carer Supplements is only paid to recipients of:
- Carer Allowance Adult
- Carer Allowance Child
- Carer Payment
- Wife Pension (Age) with Carer Allowance
- Wife Pension (DSP) with Carer Allowance
- Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) Carer Service Pension
- Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) Partner Service Pension with Carer Allowance.
